ADVANCE/AVANCE Maryland’s goal is to increase the number of clinical psychology and
social work behavioral health professionals trained in the provision of integrated, culturally and
linguistically competent CAY behavioral health services, and expand training and employment
opportunities in underserved and rural communities in Maryland.
It is an interdisciplinary partnership between UMBC’s Psychology Department and University of
Maryland School of Social Work, with CAY experiential sites, community and government
organizations, and others.
